Indian Society for Radiation Physics (ISRP) is happy to announce the 21st Symposium on Radiation Physics (NSRP21) which is being organised at Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology during the period March 5-7, 2018. The scientific programme of the symposium has the focal theme, Radiation Physics Research at Advanced Radiation Facilities. In comparison with conventional radiation sources, advanced radiation facilities use sources which are highly intense. Such facilities are excellent tools for probing matter and provide a detection level lower than what can be achieved with conventional radiation sources.
The symposium will cover the salient features of such facilities, their capability as a potential tool for radiation physics research, the challenges faced and experimental techniques. There will be invited talks by eminent scientists, from India and abroad & oral and poster presentation of contributed papers during the symposium. The event will provide an opportunity for scientists and students to present their work and interact with experts.
Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT) is a Centre dedicated for research and development in the frontline areas of lasers, particle accelerators and related technologies. Foundation of the centre was laid in 1984 and the centre was renamed as Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology in 2005. The centre is home to country's two synchrotron radiation sources, Indus-1 and Indus-2. These light sources operate in round the clock mode and researchers from all over India and abroad extensively use the facilities to carry out research in diverse areas of science and technology. Many laser systems and their novel applications related to core programs of DAE are developed at RRCAT.
